1 subject content and scope of application

this standard specifies the main performance requirements, test procedures and test report of the test equipment used in the vertical impact test of transport packages

this standard is applicable to evaluate the impact strength of transport packages when subjected to vertical impact and the protection ability of packaging to the contents. It can be used either as a single test or as part of a series of tests

3 Test principle

lift the test sample to the predetermined height, and then make it fall freely according to the predetermined state and collide with the impact table

4 test equipment

4.1 impact table

the impact table is a horizontal plane, which does not move or deform during the test, and meets the following requirements:

c. the horizontal height difference between any two points on the impact table shall not exceed 2mm

5 test procedure

5.1 preparation of test samples

5.6 test steps

5.6.1 lift the test sample to the required drop position and support it according to the predetermined state. The difference between the lifting height and the predetermined height shall not exceed ± 2% of the predetermined height. The drop height refers to the distance between the lowest point of the test sample and the impact table when preparing for release

5.6.2 release the test sample according to the following predetermined states:

a. when the surface falls, the maximum included angle between the falling surface of the test sample and the horizontal plane shall not exceed 2 °

b. when the edge falls, the maximum included angle between the falling edge and the water surface shall not exceed 2 °. The error of the included angle between the specified surface on the test sample and the impact table shall not be greater than ± 5 ° or 10% of the included angle (whichever is greater), so that the gravity line of the test sample passes through the falling edge

c. in case of angle drop, the angle error between the specified surface on the test sample and the impact table shall not be greater than ± 5 ° or 10% of this angle (whichever is greater), so that the gravity line of the test sample passes through the dropped angle

d. regardless of the state and shape of the test sample, the gravity line of the test sample shall pass through the dropped surface, line and point

5.6.3 the difference between the actual impact speed and the impact speed in free fall shall not exceed ± 1% in free fall

5.6.4 after the test, check the package and contents for damage according to relevant standards or regulations. And analyze the test results

6 test report the test report shall include the following contents:

a. name, specification, model, quantity, etc. of the contents

b. number of test samples

c. detailed description: name, size, structure and material specification of packaging container; Accessories, cushion pads, supports, fixing methods, sealing, binding status and other protective measures

d. mass of test sample and contents, in kg

e. pretreatment temperature, relative humidity and pretreatment time

f. temperature and relative humidity of the test site

g. specify the placement status of the test sample during the test

h. drop sequence and times of test samples

i. drop height of test sample, in mm

j. type of equipment used for the test

k. records of test results and any phenomena observed during the test that are helpful to explain the test results

l. explain the difference between the test method used and this standard

m. test date, signature of the tester and seal of the test unit
