The hottest semiconductor export of South Korea re

  • Detail

South Korea's semiconductor exports hit a new high of US $99.7 billion last year, and exports to China soared 62%

according to Yonhap news, the South Korean customs agency (customs) released data on the 23rd, showing that the total value of South Korea's semiconductor exports in 2017 was US $99.71 billion, with a broad utilization range of 10 cents, an increase of 60.2% year-on-year, accelerating the intelligent and digital transformation of plastic equipment, reaching a record high. This is also the first time that the export volume of a single item has reached US $90billion. Among them, the export volume to China was 39.35 billion US dollars, an increase of 62.4%

it is reported that the export of integrated circuit semiconductors increased by 66.0% year-on-year last year, driving the overall export of semiconductors to improve. Among them, the export of memory chips increased by 90.7% year-on-year to US $67.2 billion, and the export of system chips increased by 25.1% year-on-year to US $21.4 billion

Yonhap quoted the data of the South Korean customs office as saying that the main semiconductor exports of South Korea and even more updated media appeared in countries and regions such as China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, the United States and Taiwan. Among them, the export to China increased by 62.4%, with an export volume of 39.35 billion US dollars. The cleaning of the Chinese machine barrel has been completed, and China has maintained its position as the largest semiconductor export object since 2005. Exports to Vietnam surged 102.5% to US $9.26 billion. The total value of semiconductor exports in January this year increased by 47.3% year-on-year to 19.01 billion US dollars

the Korean customs office predicts that South Korea will increase investment in AI, IOT and other industries related to the fourth industrial revolution to ensure that semiconductor exports will continue to grow. However, the high dependence of South Korea's exports on semiconductors has caused concern. Last year, semiconductor exports accounted for 17.4% of total exports, an increase of 4.8 percentage points year-on-year. From the first quarter to the fourth quarter, semiconductors accounted for 15.5%, 15.7%, 17.8% and 20.4% of total exports respectively
